In case you didn't read the preview interview with Rebecca Northan for Kung Fu Panties (and if not, shame on you!) you might not realize that I have been really, really, reaaaaallllyyyy looking forward to this show. For over a year I have wondered how the full length production would turn out. I am ecstatic to announce I was not disappointed. It was everything I dreamed of and more.

A comedic tribute to the action movie, Kung Fu Panties has it all... car chases, slow motion action scenes, hunky boys in their underwear (in a scene that can only be described as hilariously hot... it shouldn't work but it does), over the top bad guys, plot twists, and girl on girl action in more ways than one.

The cast each tackles their roles with gusto. Christian Goutsis steals the scenery as the sleazy supervillan Flores. Bruce Horak's turn as Mexican cantina staffer, Carlos, among a few other choice roles, are always hilarious. Northan (Darlington), Julie Orton (Goodbody), and Chantal Perron (Malta) look amazing and add a lot of depth to what could be pretty shallow characters. The use of black clad ninjas as props and to move scenery, is a clever touch.

I don't want to say much more about the show because really it is something best left unspoiled. It blows my mind that this is Northan's first shot at writing a play. Like any good action film, the ending leaves the possibility open for a sequel. I hope this ends up being the case with Kung Fu Panties!

Order your tickets now. The run will sell out and then you will have to listen to other people rave about it and know that you missed out on something special.(GC)
