Toronto-based gay musician Cory Stewart is excited to announce the release of his debut EP, ‘7 Different Sides’. The collection of songs written and produced by Stewart and JUNO award-winning musician Gavin Bradley, offer a dance-floor-ready and self-reflective strain of 80’s inspired electro-pop.

Recorded at GavCo studios in the heart of downtown Toronto, ‘Sides’ contains three unique pop tracks and two extended track versions. Receiving industry mentorship from JUNO award winning singer Simone Denny (formerly of Love Inc.), Cory is heavily influenced by artists such as Troye Sivan, The Pet Shop Boys, Madonna, Ansel Elgort and musicals such as ‘The Greatest Showman’ and ‘Phantom of the Opera’, each track (listed below) is written and produced by Cory and JUNO winner Gavin Bradley, who has worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Tori Amos, Serena Ryder, Esthero, Nelly Furtado and JackSoul.

"With each track, I wanted to strongly convey the scenarios and themes that many LGBTQ+ individuals experience within their day-to-day lives," says Cory Stewart. "The first single (7 Different Sides) deals with the excruciating process of accepting personality flaws post-breakup, while ‘I Wouldn’t Want Me Either’ explores the struggle of finding a partner while battling self-loathing and destructive behaviour. ‘My Gay Heart’ brings more positive vibes, acting as an acoustic guitar/electro-charged LGBTQ+ empowerment anthem, exploring both societal pressures to ‘fit in’, as many face when defining their identity, and learning to love your background and orientation."

"Song by song on this EP, Cory has courageously given voice to issues that many gay men live with: self-protection, self-doubt and finding a relationship model that feels right," says producer Gavin Bradley. "I think it's the right time for pop music to tackle personal subjects like these more directly."
