Tickets on sale now for Western Canada’s largest pop culture event
The 14th Annual Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo (Calgary Expo) will return to Stampede Park April 25-28, 2019 with a massive dose of charm thanks to newly announced first guest Zachary Levi. Levi has recently been seen in Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok, and is known to Disney fans as the voice of ‘Flynn Ryder’ from Disney’s animated hit Tangled. His TV credits include the leading role in Chuck, and recently in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon). He will soon be seen on the big screen as the titular character in DC’s Shazam! as part of the DC Extended Universe. Fans recently saw him singing on Broadway staring in She Loves Me and First Date.
"We attend dozens of shows each year and every time we run into Zachary Levi (he’s a busy guy, and doesn’t do many of these events) we’re reminded why his fans are so loyal – he is an awesome, fun guy with a dynamite body of work. We’re thrilled he could commit to Calgary this year, because we’ve been wanting to host him here for a long time," said Kandrix Foong, Calgary Expo’s Founder and Managing Director of FAN EXPO HQ West (which produces Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo, FAN EXPO Vancouver, and the Calgary Expo Holiday Market). Foong started the Calgary Expo in 2006 with just a few thousand attendees, and has since seen in grow to be one of the largest events of its kind in North America.
"Work on Calgary Expo 2019 started the day after Calgary Expo 2018 wrapped. Every year we try tighten up our operations a bit and challenge ourselves to be creative (we’re fans too after all), but our jobs are easy here when it comes to inviting stars and artists – the fans here are like nowhere else in the world and word gets around; people want to come to Calgary."
Tickets are currently available online via calgaryexpo.com. No physical tickets are sold to Calgary Expo, although mail-to-home options pre-event are available.
