Q Review LGBTQ Music Project (Q Review) founder Kenney Fitzpatrick is working with local Halifax, Nova Scotia community station CIOE 97.5 FM to present a new weekly radio show dedicated to presenting the music from LGBTQ artists titled OUT LOUD.
Fitzpatrick says "It's surprising just how many members of the LGBTQ community have never heard country, rap, hip hop etc. from LGBTQ artists. No genre is off the table. This is a moment in time when we as music lovers have a responsibility to step up and ensure representation across all demographics and to champion the voices of our less visible corners of music. That includes our QPOC, Trans and gender non-conforming community members."
Each week Out Loud will bring listeners the latest and best music from the LGBTQ music community. Although concentrated on Canadian artists, each week Out Loud will also be diving into the global releases to highlight what's happening in LGBTQ music around the world. The show will have guest artists, new releases, genre spotlights and more!
"We'll also be looking at the challenges artists are facing in an ever changing music industry and specific issues affecting music artists from the LGBTQ community. Plus we'll be looking for new artists and listeners can suggest artists to play and have on the show!"
OUT LOUD broadcasts every Thursday at 10pm AST/9pm EST on CIOE 97.5 FM or streaming online at communityradio.ca
